Education Assistant (PT) Dayshift 

 

Position Summary 

Under the direction of the Clinical Educator, assists in planning and carrying out system wide education services and programs.  

Ensures the tracking of resource allocation, such as class materials.  

Maintains class attendance documentation and records. 

Assists with hospital-wide DNV compliance. 

 

Overview 

The evaluation is to ensure the efficiency of aspects of the Education department.

  • Basic computer literacy.

  • Ability to use good body mechanics while performing daily job functions and ability to follow specific OSHA guidelines.
  • Ability to maintain attendance to meet standard job practices.
  1. Education/Licensure/Certification
    • Current Georgia Nursing Licensure in good standing with the GA Board of Nursing.
    • Willingness to obtain BLS, ACLS and PALS instructor certification.
    • Willingness to obtain Crisis Intervention instructor certification. 
  2. Experience
    • Previous teaching experience preferred but not required.
  3. Interpersonal Skills
    • Ability to effectively communicate, interact, and work with individuals and groups while building relationships.
  4. Essential Technical
    • Ability to work with Microsoft 365 such as Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to complete Administrator tasks in Healthstream or learn in 3 months.
  1. Essential Physical Requirements/Motor Skills
    • Light: Exert up to 20 lb. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lb. of force frequently.
    • Heavy: Lifting up to 40 lb. occasionally and up to 20 lb. frequently – mainly mankins and training resources.

Job Specific Duties and Performance Standards 

  1. Track loaning of Education resources such as BLS, ACLS or PALS materials.
  2. Maintaining Notebook of Education Inservice sign-in sheets.
  3. Placing employee attendance at In-services and Skills Fairs in Healthstream.
  4. Posting classes in Healthstream for registration.
  5. Creating Flyers for Educational Offerings.
  6. Assist to maintain Educational postings on Bulletin Boards.
  1. Running reports of Educational compliance and sharing with managers/directors.
  2. Setting up manikins for educational events, cleaning of manikins and maintenance of cleaning log.
  3. Making copies of class materials/handouts.
  4. Assisting with Educational classes as qualified and needed.
  5. Other tasks may be added as needed.
