Job Summary:

Responsibilities include planning, implementing, monitoring, and improving the quality of services with the goal of optimal patient outcomes.

Education & Experience

Associate’s degree in Respiratory Care Technology; Bachelor’s degree preferred.     Four (4) years Respiratory therapy experience. 

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

  • Respiratory Therapy License from Mississippi State Board for Allied Health License (Respiratory Care)
  • Certification from National Board Of Respiratory Care (CRT)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board Of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • BCH Respiratory-PALS  

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge and understanding of procedural patient care, practice and standards in area of specialty.

Oral and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills. Detail and task oriented.

Analytical and conceptual skills.

Project management skills, including the ability to effectively manage resources and assets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Planning, implementing, monitoring, and improving the quality of services with the goal of optimal patient outcomes
  • Identifies training needs; coordinates orientation, educational, and staff development activities
  • Coordinates ongoing clinical quality improvement initiatives
  • Coordinates and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams and committees to ensure evidence-based clinical quality goals and outcomes are developed and implemented using appropriate standards of care.  Serves as liaison. 
  • Provides feedback to medical staff and administration regarding outcomes from clinical improvement initiatives during and after implementation, and regarding outcomes of performance measures of clinical pathways
  • Collaborates in the development, implementation, and maintenance of applicable policies and procedures
