What are we looking for in a Compliance Coordinator?

The Clinical Compliance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring clinical service delivery meets regulatory, coding, clinical documentation, and treatment planning standards. This role combines hands - on behavioral health expertise with compliance oversight to enhance quality, improve patient safety, and support clinicians through education, auditing, and collaborative performance improvement efforts. This role focuses on assessing the clinical documentation and performance of clinical staff to promote high-quality care and compliance with state and federal regulations. 

Compliance Director duties may include:

  • Maintaining knowledge on current behavioral health theories, practices, and programs. 
  • Staying up to date with relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards affecting behavioral health services
  • Monitoring and evaluate the performance of behavioral health providers to ensure adherence to clinical documentation expectations, regulatory standards, and quality and safety requirements as it relates to client care 
  • Monitoring and evaluating provider adherence to clinical workflows
  • Assessing the clinical performance of staff using data from Measurement Based Care platforms
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback to clinicians to enhance documentation practices and align care delivery with best practices and regulatory expectations
  • Interact regularly with organizational providers and multidisciplinary teams to share information, coordinate activities, and support the delivery of save, high-quality behavioral health services
  • Prepare accurate, well - written audit summaries, reports, recommendations, and other communications for internal stakeholders, supporting transparency and accountability in clinical compliance 
  • Draft, revise, and implement policies and procedures related to behavioral health clinical operations, compliance, and regulatory requirements 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in psychology, Social Work, Counselling, Nursing, or a related behavioral health degree
  • A strong understanding of behavioral health regulatory and accreditation requirements
  • Strong knowledge of documentation and treatment planning regulations and standards
  • Familiarity with evidence - based practices in behavioral health and understanding of therapeutic modalities and interventions
  • Demonstrated knowledge of behavioral health systems and quality improvement processes
