Job Overview

Visiting Nurse Health System is hiring an Account Executive for Home Health who will develop and execute territory and account plans to maintain and grow home health service admissions from referral partners. This role covers a defined branch service area in the Atlanta healthcare market, focusing on building relationships with physician offices, senior living facilities, rehab centers, and community agencies. The Account Executive manages approximately 100 referring physicians on a bi-weekly call cycle and strategically identifies new facility opportunities. This position demands a self-motivated professional with strong analytical and relationship-building skills who thrives on driving growth while upholding VNHS’s mission and values.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and execute business plans to grow and maintain referral partnerships with physician offices, senior living communities, rehab facilities, and other healthcare entities.
  • Manage a rotating call cycle of approximately 100 physicians and strategically add key facilities to the territory plan.
  • Establish personal relationships with decision-makers such as physicians, directors of case management, social workers, discharge planners, wellness planners, and other healthcare influencers.
  • Leverage Excel Health and company tools to identify high-impact opportunities and tailor sales strategies.
  • Organize and participate in speaking engagements, health fairs, recognition events, and other community activities to educate and build relationships.
  • Work closely with branch teams to set SMART goals and ensure accountability in executing the territory business plan.
  • Collaborate with marketing to create branch-specific materials that support strategic objectives.
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions, complete pre-call plans, and submit weekly activity and expense reports.
  • Monitor budget parameters and adapt spending as necessary to support VNHS’s financial guidelines.
  • Stay current on Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer requirements as well as regulations impacting home health and hospice.
  • Always communicate with integrity and in compliance with corporate policies and industry regulations.
  • Role model excellent customer service, uphold VNHS’s values, and project a professional image.

Location:

You’re Perfect for the Position if you:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in nursing, Allied Health, Health Administration, Business Administration, or similar (strongly preferred).
  • Have at least two years of successful healthcare sales experience, preferably in home health or hospice, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Are knowledgeable about the Atlanta healthcare landscape, especially within the home health and hospice sectors.
  • Understand Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer requirements.
  • Excel in gathering and presenting clinical and statistical data.
  • Have advanced interpersonal, sales, business development, and communication skills.
  • Are proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows, and mobile tools.
  • Posses a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
  • Can frequently move or lift light objects under 10 lbs., occasionally up to 50 lbs., and have the dexterity and mobility to perform typical office functions and drive throughout the territory.
