The search is on! We are hiring a Behavioral Health Consultant to provide therapy for families, consultation for program staff, and child observations as needed. This is a contracted position offering 5–15 hours per month, primarily during daytime hours with some remote flexibility. The role is ideal for someone seeking flexible, part-time work that offers additional income and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community. While fluency in two or more languages, including one that supports the needs of the program and community, is preferred, candidates are encouraged to apply even if they do not meet this criteria.
As the Behavioral Health Consultant for Teaching Together Home Visiting (TTHV), you will provide in-person or Zoom-based therapy for parents and/or children, consult with staff on behavioral health concerns, and offer training or home observations as needed. Documentation is minimal and includes a monthly invoice and a brief summary of services and recommendations for each family.
What you bring to the table:
MA degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
Licensed or license-eligible MFT or LCSW, or a Licensed MFT Intern or LCSW Intern, with the necessary experience and expertise to serve children, families, and childcare providers
Fluency in two or more languages, including one that supports the needs of the program and community is preferred, but not required.
Two years of related experience in early intervention, parenting groups, assessments, and one-on-one counseling
Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and child and adult development
At least one person in the group/agency must be a licensed or license-eligible MFT, LCSW with necessary experience and expertise to serve children, families and childcare providers
Must have liability insurance
Must have dependable, insured transportation, and a valid California Driver License
As a Behavioral Health Consultant you will:
Consultation and Capacity Building (Staff and Parent Support):
Provide on-site or virtual consultation to department staff to enhance their ability to support social-emotional health
Model effective strategies for staff to manage challenging behaviors in home or community settings
Participate in team meetings to discuss program-level behavioral wellness strategies
Early Intervention and Support Services:
Conduct short-term behavioral assessments and provide brief, evidence-guided interventions to individuals or families
Offer consultation on child behavioral screening tools to help identify needs
Develop and implement preventative support plans for families showing early signs of depression, anxiety, or emotional distress
Support referrals to community behavioral health providers when higher-intensity treatment is required
Documentation:
Complete monthly invoice
Provide a one-page summary of services provided to families receiving services
