Job Summary:

  • Under the direction of the Trauma Program Manager, the Injury Prevention Coordinator consults and collaborates with internal organizational and community individuals and groups to reduce traumatic injury.
  • Collaborate with the Trauma team to analyze trauma registry data to determine the need for prevention programs.
  • Review existing injury prevention programs and will collaborate with internal departments and external liaisons to organize the planning, implementation and evaluation of prevention programs that address the needs of the community.
  • Acts as a liaison to the appropriate agencies within the organization's network and catchment area to organize workgroups, coalitions, and disbursement networks for programs.
  • Content/topic expert within the catchment area and serves in roles to reflex this expertise.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, education, public health or allied health with a specific interest in education. Master of Public Health preferred. If in nursing, must hold a valid Vermont license as an RN.
  • Training or experience in leadership, education, quality management, public health, nursing or clinical service preferred.

Experience:

  • Three to five years of administrative experience desired.
  • Strong written and verbal skills necessary.
  • Minimum 2 years of working experience in public health or health related field. Health care setting preferred.
  • Grant writing and budget experience preferred.
  • Experience with public speaking and/or teaching, individually or in groups, is required.
