Mingle Health is seeking a talented candidate for the role of Senior Clinical Informatics Data Engineer. Our data-driven software solutions and services give providers tools to identify and solve common healthcare challenges related to preventive medicine, disease management, practice efficiency, and quality reporting.
 
The Senior Clinical Informatics Data Engineer will possess a combination of healthcare information technology experience, strong clinical knowledge, and robust SQL Server database skills in order to perform a variety of tasks, functions, and services related to the analysis of client data.   Our CI team members are trusted advisors to our clients in a complex process to report data to Medicare. Our clients look to us to be experts, simplify complex tasks, and guide decision-making relating to quality measures.  In addition, our Clinical Informatics team plays a vital role in converting CMS specifications and related data into our database so that data can be analyzed to calculate eligible instances and performance. It is required that the candidate possesses experience within process improvement, quality reporting, and working with data in a SQL database.
 
Required Clinical Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years experience in Healthcare/Clinical Informatics
  • Experience with medical/clinical information systems used by clients (e.g., EHR, Practice Management, etc.)
  • Experience with medical processes and terminology, physician office systems, or billing (including Medicare and other payers)
  • Experience with Quality Reporting
  • Familiarity with MIPS and APP programs
  • Ability to review, interpret, compare, and edit clinical documentation such as the CMS Measure Specifications Manual for Claims and Registry Reporting
  • Ability to listen to client requirements and translate them into actionable solutions
  • Provide clients guidance to construct their queries, extract their data, assess the quality of the data, and continuously improve their data quality, flow, and metrics.
 
 
Required Technical Skills
  • Strong programming skills and proficiency in SQL
  • Ability to develop, execute, and evaluate Microsoft SQL queries
·         Experience building and optimizing data pipelines
·         Develop pipelines to transform raw data into reliable and usable information for analysis
·         Build data migration scripts and procedures using tools such as SSIS and/or Python
·         Facilitate importing of third-party data into data structures – utilize database, programming and ETL tools to implement and maintain efficient and accurate data loading processes
·         Investigate exceptions in data migrations
·         Contribute to and engage in planning, analysis, design and development of data management processes, data integration, data warehouse, and BI solutions
  • Ability to analyze large datasets in minute detail to investigate and resolve issues ensuring data integrity and accuracy including but not limited to, reading error logs, executing stored procedures, understanding data structures
  • Basic understanding of best practices for effective database design and maintenance
  • Comfort with a rapidly changing environment with incomplete documentation and fluid roles
  • Strict adherence to HIPAA privacy and security policies
 
Functions and Key Attributes
  • Understand, explain, and codify CMS specifications for the QPP
  • Use MS SQL and other tools to analyze accuracy and performance with claims and clinical data
  • Use internal web app software to provide data mapping for claims and clinical datasets
  • Translate measure specifications into database objects used to calculate quality measures
  • Serve as a consult on assigned clients including health practices and hospital systems to successfully complete a CMS submission
  • Ability to build ad-hoc reports in SQL for client consulting purposes
  • Validate data load processes into clinical data repositories
  • Collaborate with other staff to document data needs and metric definitions
  • Perform QA functions for the data integration processes and repository metrics
  • Collaborative and team skills to integrate with a disseminated, remote team
  • Interpersonal skills to manage and contribute to client-facing projects and internal development projects
