PURPOSE

As the Spa & Wellness Manager at Snoqualmie Casino & Hotel, your leadership will be crucial in maintaining the spa and wellness facilities, including the fitness center and pool operations. Your role is instrumental in ensuring our guests have a top-tier destination for relaxation and rejuvenation. You will be responsible for directing, managing, and providing strategic leadership for the departmental operations. Additionally, you will be tasked with developing, implementing, and enforcing all company and departmental policies and procedures, as well as maintaining quality and performance standards. Your role will involve driving strategic initiatives, supporting the spa retail area, and leading team members to deliver high-quality service and a seamless spa experience, all while maximizing revenues and controlling departmental costs. This position is anticipated to start in April.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee and drive the daily operations of the spa, pool, and fitness center. Ensure all aspects of the facility - including the spa treatment menu, scheduling, team member performance, inventory, and ongoing maintenance - are executed to the highest standards. Continuously evaluate and optimize operational workflows to maximize efficiency and enhance the guest experience.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a dynamic team of spa professionals, including therapists, estheticians, and support roles. Take charge of recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and fostering a culture of excellence. Provide consistent feedback, professional development opportunities, and recognition to ensure high levels of team engagement and skill growth.
  • Guest Experience: Champion the guest experience by ensuring that all services - across the spa, pool, and fitness center - exceed guest expectations in terms of quality, cleanliness, safety, and ambiance. Address guest concerns swiftly and professionally and implement measures to prevent future issues while continuously elevating the guest experience.
  • Financial Oversight: Take full responsibility for the spa’s budget, including payroll, supplies, and revenue generation. Analyze financial data to identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth. Proactively implement strategies to increase sales of services and retail products while maintaining financial discipline and achieving department goals.
  • Marketing and Promotions: Collaborate with the marketing team to drive awareness and demand for spa services. Develop, launch, and monitor effective promotional campaigns and seasonal offerings. Leverage feedback and performance metrics to adapt marketing strategies and increase guest engagement and retention.
  • Technology Integration & System Management: Oversee all spa system components, ensuring they are optimized for functionality, security, and efficiency. Coordinate with IT for troubleshooting and system integration and ensure that all team members are fully trained on software tools to support smooth operations. Maintain data integrity and enhance system functionality to improve guest experiences and operational workflows.
  • Compliance, Safety & Quality Assurance: Ensure that all spa and wellness services are fully compliant with health, safety, and regulatory standards. Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and innovations to continually improve service offerings. Monitor staff certifications and training requirements, ensuring all team members remain current with their qualifications and industry regulations.
  • Cross-departmental Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as housekeeping, guest services, and maintenance, to ensure seamless operations and the delivery of an exceptional guest experience across all wellness offerings.
  • Other Duties: Perform additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned by upper management to support the continued success of the spa and wellness operations.
Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field. An additional two (2) years of applicable experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • Four (4) years of progressive experience in spa management, with at least three (3) years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Proven experience leading and developing diverse teams, with a focus on performance management, coaching, and team-building in a wellness or hospitality environment.

  • Customer Service: Outstanding customer service skills and a genuine passion for providing exceptional therapeutic and wellness experiences, including delivering superior retail guest services.

  • Industry Knowledge: Expertise in spa operations, wellness, and fitness services, with up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, therapies, treatments, and retail products.
  • Staff Development: Proven ability to recruit, train, develop, and manage a team, fostering a high-performance environment with a focus on coaching, feedback, and professional growth.
  • Spa Operations Expertise: In-depth understanding of spa operations, including service quality, facility maintenance, guest experience, and wellness programs.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, ensuring all aspects of spa operations, from cleanliness to service delivery, meet the highest standards of quality.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, essential for team coordination, guest interaction, and collaborating with other departments.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to solve issues quickly and effectively, ensuring smooth operations and the best possible guest experience.

PREFERRED

Education and Experience:

  • Certification in spa or salon management preferred
  • Forbes or AAA Diamond Service Standards experience
  • Experience in the Seattle local or destination resort market
  • Practitioner Experience as a Licensed Esthetician or Licensed Massage TherapistΒ 

Snoqualmie Casino & Hotel exercises Snoqualmie Tribal Member/Native American preference in hiring, in compliance with the Snoqualmie Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO). You must obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Snoqualmie Gaming Commission. Pre-employment drug testing is required for all positions. The use of marijuana will not disqualify an applicant for positions in any department other than Transportation (Valet, Driver I). DOT panel testing is required for the Driver position.
