Position Summary

The Senior Process Improvement Engineer position will support and facilitate the lean transformation journey. You will help cultivate and maintain a lean culture using various continuous improvement tools to achieve world class manufacturing performance. You will draw on your experience in lean manufacturing, improvement projects, and operations experience.

 

 

Principal Activities

  • Lead and Drive lean manufacturing via continuous Kaizen & workshop activities
  • Apply lean tools to eliminate waste, improve processes, and reduce product variation
  • Serve as an internal change agent to institutionalize Lean methodology to support the business strategy plan
  • Hold responsibility to complete and finish action items derived from Kaizens, workshops, and projects
  • Develop a Kaizen and projects funnel to keep momentum on positive change
  • Provide training and coaching in Lean production, process knowledge, and management tools
  • Lead and support problem-solving sessions using the appropriate tools for sustainable results
  • Track and monitor for sustainment and progress toward KPI performance etc. consolidating performance metrics, projects, and activities
  • Support operations in the creation and management of Standard Work Instructions
  • Develop metrics and dashboard measures designed to include the entire operations population in both understanding key performance indicators and necessary actions to improve KPIs
  • Utilize improvement tools including A-3’s, Ishikawa diagrams, Visual Management Boards, Daily Management activities
  • Facilitate advanced improvement events including Value Stream Mapping of complex value streams
  • Enhancing the program to world class levels through innovation and benchmarking, driving business unit and site self-sufficiency
  • Other duties as assigned

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrated experience in some tools such as Six Sigma, Toyota Production System, & Lean process improvement tools
  • Demonstrated Analytical Thinking skills
  • Designing and facilitating Manufacturing improvement projects
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Methodologies and how to the apply them
  • Ability to compile data, analyze data, and formulate improvement initiatives
  • Ability to prepare and deliver effective presentations
  • Strong team building skills and the ability to facilitate team-based initiatives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, business process improvement knowledge
  • Ability to train others
  • Ability to develop and lead presentations regarding projects, initiatives, and events
  • Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Intermediate project management skills

 

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any Engineering Discipline (Mechanical, Science, Technology, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering) Note: Will consider 5 years’ experience in lieu of degree
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience facilitating and managing Lean Manufacturing programs
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certified a plus
