Role Overview:
The Senior Manager, Strategic Process Improvement is responsible for driving enterprise process improvement and organizational change initiatives that strengthen operational performance, consistency, and accountability across the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to assess current workflows, identify gaps and redundancies, and drive future-state process alignment across the organization with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
This position advances organizational maturity by ensuring policies, procedures, and process maps are centralized, maintained, and consistently applied across the agency. The Project Manager, Process Standardization serves as a foundational role in strengthening operational excellence and long term organizational scalability.
Salary Statement:
The salary range for this position is $71,802 - $78,000, commensurate with education and work experience.
A Day in the Life:
Process Standardization & Improvement:
- Lead the assessment, documentation, and standardization of core business processes across multiple functional areas.
- Facilitate current-state and future-state process mapping, including identification of inefficiencies, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Develop, organize, and maintain an enterprise policy and process maps that enable consistent execution and support organizational decision making.
- Partner with functional leaders and internal stakeholders to align processes with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
- Ensure processes adhere to state regulations, agency policies, and industry standards.
- Ensure standardized processes are documented, accessible, and regularly reviewed for relevance and effectiveness.
- Establish metrics and reporting mechanisms to track performance and continuous improvement.
Project Management:
- Manages implementation of strategic initiatives delegated by the CAO.
- Plan, execute, and monitor process standardization projects from initiation implementation and stabilization.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and deliverables; proactively manage risks, dependencies, and scope changes.
- Coordinate cross-functional project teams and ensure accountability to deliverables and deadlines
- Track and report project progress, outcomes, and performance metrics to leadership and stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Drive the execution of organizational change initiatives through development, implementation, and adoption of standardized policies, procedures, and process improvements aligned with leadership priorities.
- Develop initiative tracking tools and reporting dashboards for leadership use.
- Improve consistency of project planning across departments.
- Maintain centralized visibility of strategic initiative progress.
- Collaborate with internal partners for training and communication to support process rollout, education, and adoption.
- Monitor post-implementation effectiveness and recommend refinements to ensure sustainability and continuous improvement.
What You'll Need for Success:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Project Management, or related field.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in project management, process improvement, or operations within government/public sector, highly regulated, or large matrixed organization.
- Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent) strongly desired.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional projects and implementing standardized processes.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority.
Knowledge of:
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (PMP or similar certification preferred).
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement frameworks.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, or similar).
Ability to Demonstrate:
