The Senior EMR Implementation Manager will lead large-scale EMR implementations, serving as a strategic project leader and operational driver within the Global PMO. This role is responsible for end-to-end delivery, ensuring projects are executed on time, within budget, and at the highest quality. The Implementation Manager will align stakeholders, manage financials, mitigate risks, and drive outcomes that improve clinical workflows and patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Lead full lifecycle management of large-scale EMR implementations (Epic, Cerner, Veeva, etc.) from discovery to go-live and stabilization
Develop and maintain integrated project plans, RAID logs, financial forecasts, and resource allocations
Ensure effective communication and alignment between clinical, technical, and business teams, internally and with clients
Enforce PMO governance and standardized methodologies, tools, and templates across all projects
Identify, assess, and mitigate risks to ensure delivery within timeline, budget, and scope
Manage project financials, including budget vs. actuals, profitability targets, and change control processes
Deliver executive-level reporting and presentations, translating project details into clear business outcomes
Build and maintain strong relationships with client executives and project leaders
Mentor and guide project coordinators, analysts, and team members to elevate delivery capability
Capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement of PMO frameworks
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare, Life Sciences, or related field
5+ years of senior-level experience managing EMR or clinical system implementations in consulting or professional services
Proven expertise in Agile, Hybrid, and Waterfall methodologies
Proficiency with PMO tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, JIRA, Clarity)
Strong financial acumen with experience managing project budgets of $1M+ and project P&Ls
Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills with ability to engage C-suite leaders and cross-functional teams
Solid understanding of healthcare and life sciences ecosystems and regulatory requirements (GxP, HIPAA, 21 CFR Part 11)
PMP certification (or equivalent) required
Preferred: Prior consulting experience (e.g., IQVIA, Accenture, Deloitte), EMR vendor background, or certification in a major EMR platform
