[What the role is]

As the Senior Assistant Director/Director with the Tuberculosis Division, you will lead the Surveillance and Epidemiology team. You will oversee the national TB registry functions, which include processing TB notifications, TB surveillance and laboratory data, and contact tracing initiation.

You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time.

[What you will be working on]

  • To oversee surveillance functions of Surveillance and Epidemiology team and to lead the pre-entry TB screening programme under the Tuberculosis division.
  • To monitor programme performance, ensuring timely submission of TB surveillance reports and supervise data extraction for routine and ad-hoc analysis Conduct regular auditing and provide feedback to stakeholders on data completeness and timeliness.
  • To oversee the WGS-related works and provide epidemiological support in cluster investigations and maintain WGS database.
  • Provide epidemiological input into the NTBP and epidemiological research portfolio of the programme
  • Oversee the establishment of pre-entry screening processes including planning and implementation and review policy effectiveness.
  • Train and guide new officers in their respective roles.
  • Provide leadership in mentoring staff and managing interpersonal dynamics

[What we are looking for]

  • Recognised qualification, preferably a Master's Degree or PhD in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
  • Relevant studies in Healthcare, Nursing, Public Health, or other related fields would be beneficial.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the healthcare sector or ministry of health with experience in report submission, manuscript preparation and publication.
  • Working experience in the field of Epidemiology, conducting epidemiological research, and statistical analysis will be advantageous.
