Job Description
The Department of Environmental Health Sciences, School of Public Health at The University of Alabama at Birmingham invites applications for 3 tenure eligible positions, at the Assistant Professor/ Associate Professor/Professor level. Rank, salary, start up package and tenure status will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The positions require highly motivated applicants with demonstrated ability to compete for research grants and contracts and effective collaboration in multidisciplinary projects as well as teaching excellence. The applicants will have demonstrated research experience in one of the following areas: Industrial Hygiene; environmental and occupational toxicology (preferred experience with biomarkers, metabolomics, and/or oxidative stress); and environmental and occupational sustainability (preferred experience with nanoparticle exposure and fate, community-based environmental and occupational research, environmental/economic development, or workforce sustainability). The applicants are expected to be actively involved in the NIOSH -funded Education and Research Center activities, specifically in the industrial hygiene program. Advising master and doctoral students and engagement in appropriate service activities are also expected. Minimum qualifications are a Ph.D. or equivalent in toxicology, chemistry, physics, engineering, environmental health sciences, industrial hygiene or other scientifically appropriate disciplines.
