Description

The Homecare Quality and Utilization Review Nurse is a Registered Nurse with a BSN who collaborates with Centra Home Health/Hospice employees and managers in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating continuing education, in-service education and other specialized programs for targeted audiences, at the individual and organizational level. The Homecare Quality and Utilization Review Nurse promotes the improvement of care as set forth in regulatory guidelines by auditing patient records and identifying deficiencies and sets goals and measures necessary to improve performance through education, coaching, and mentoring for all hospice/home health business units. In addition, the Service Line Educator monitors staff practice and documentation according to State professional license guidelines and in conjunction with regulatory standards set by The Joint Commission, CMS for Medicare and Medicaid and the Virginia Department of Health Office of Licensure. The Homecare Quality and Utilization Review Nurse is the clinical and program expert in department computer documentation and is able to guide and direct the staff in updates, revisions in programming and new programs through education and demonstration. This Homecare Quality and Utilization Review Nurse is an available resource to all staff members to assist in education of new products, hands on in-services, and individualized education based on the needs analysis of the educator. This Homecare Quality and Utilization Review Nurse works collaboratively with administration and physicians to determine the method, approach and delivery of educational needs of the service line. This position will be clinically competent in all areas of hospice/home health care in order to guide and direct staff. This position promotes continuity and excellence of care based on established standards practice for all disciplines. This role exercises in-depth clinical judgment and leadership abilities within a field of practice that focuses upon the needs of the patient, family and caregivers. In addition, it encompasses the interaction among nursing colleagues and other health professionals serving the patient, family and caregivers.



Qualifications

Required Education: Associates Degree from accredited Nursing Program

Preferred Education: Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) or Masters of Science Degree in Nursing (MSN)

Required Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years of related experience. Computer skills including word processing (Word), data base management (Excel), and presentation (PowerPoint) software. Exemplary written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills

Preferred Experience: At least two (2) years of teaching experience. Ability to use audiovisual equipment effectively. Hospice experience (Hospice only). Home Health experience (Home Health only)

Required Certifications and Licensures: Hold a current, active license as a registered nurse in Virginia or hold a current multistate/compact license. Hold a current, active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) course completion card.

Preferred Certifications and Licensures: Hospice RN Certification (Hospice only)

Salary Range: $62,462.00-$93,693.00/Annually
