Flexible Independent Contractor (1099) Opportunity – Work 20 to 40 Hours Per Week! An active, unrestricted Kansas, Missouri, Alabama, Wisconsin, California, Texas or Nebraska medical license are required.


We are seeking Family Medicine or Internal Medicine board certified physicians to review Prior Authorizations for treatments, DME requests, SNF admissions, medications, and more. Our reviewers apply nationally accepted medical and healthcare plan guidelines and provide expert, unbiased assessments while ensuring compliance with ERISA/DOL and state regulations.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Our reviewers review Prior Authorizations for treatment, DME requests, SNF admissions, Medications, etc. to see if they meet nationally accepted medical guidelines and/or healthcare plan guidelines. They provide their expertise, as an unbiased, external source, and in compliance with ERISA/DOL and/or state laws. This position allows flexibility to work from 20 to 40 hours per week, at your convenience.

  • Note: We seek candidates available 5-7 days per week (flexible daytime hours). Sporadic availability (1-2 days per week) does not align with our needs.

Additional Information:

  • Covered under MRIoA’s Errors and Omissions policy (traditional Malpractice Insurance is not applicable).
  • Work remotely from anywhere in the U.S. (patient records cannot leave the country).
  • Non-employed Independent Contractor (1099) opportunity.

Skills and Experience: 

  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability and willingness to conduct Peer-to-Peer calls during business hours.
  • Must utilize healthcare plan criteria in decision-making when required.


Education:

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine REQUIRED
  • Active, unrestricted Kansas, Missouri, Alabama, Wisconsin, California, Texas or Nebraska medical license.


Work Environment:

Ability to sit at a desk, utilize a computer, telephone, and other basic office equipment is required. This role is designed to be a remote position (work-from-home).
