Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Patient Navigator (Colorectal Surgery)
Location: Hackensack, NJ Area
Duration: 24 Weeks
Schedule: Part-Time, Days | No Weekends or On-Call
Rate: $40 - $45/Hour

Job Summary:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a compassionate and organized Registered Nurse to serve as a Patient Navigator in a specialized Colorectal Surgery and Gastroenterology practice. The Patient Navigator acts as a dedicated advocate and educator, guiding patients and families through the surgical and cancer care continuum. This part-time role offers work-life balance while keeping you clinically engaged in a high-acuity specialty.

Schedule & Hours:

• Part-Time: Approximately 20 hours/week

• Monday & Wednesday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (8-hour shifts)

• Tuesday or Thursday: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM (4-hour shift)

• No Weekends, Holidays, or On-Call Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Advocacy & Education:

  • Guide patients through the healthcare system, addressing barriers to care (financial, social, or logistical).

  • Support patients and families in coping with psychological aspects of surgery and cancer care.

  • Provide clinical care and educational resources during visits and via phone.

• Clinical Coordination & Triage:

  • Answer and triage patient phone calls, including urgent inquiries and medication questions.

  • Coordinate appointments and ensure clinicians have necessary reports, films, and pathology results.

  • Collect clinical information for accurate referrals and completion of physician orders.

• Operations Support:

  • Connect patients with resources and assist with access to financial services.

  • Identify potential subjects for clinical trials when appropriate.

Qualifications:

• Education & Licensure:

  • Required: Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree (ASN)

  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

  • Current NJ RN License

  • BLS Certification (American Heart Association)

• Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of nursing experience

  • Specialty experience in Gastroenterology, Colorectal Surgery, or Surgical Oncology

  • Strong understanding of surgical workflows and medical terminology
