DescriptionThe Clinical Educator provides clinical education to the Radiology department. The individual is responsible for the needs and assessment, planning/development, delivery, coordination, and evaluation of a radiology clinical education program along with onboarding of new hires and being the central contact for our student affiliations. Also acts as in a role to monitor quality improvement to formulate areas of concentration for education. Travel to off-site locations is necessary. The Clinical Educator will also rotate in the Radiology schedule as needed
Responsibilities
- Conducts periodic needs assessments related to Radiology to establish priorities for educational programs. 4%
- Implements and evaluates orientation programs for Radiology staff. 4%
- Assist in the orientation and precepting of new Radiology staff. 5%
- Provides clinical orientation to evaluate new employee performance and readiness to progress in the orientation process. 10%
- Coordinate and schedules in-services and radiology educational activities for staff
Develops appropriate learning tools and modules. 4%
- Coordinates clinical experiences for Radiology students. Works with learning and development to make sure the colleges/universities meet our organizational requirements. 10%

- Works in conjunction with other department Lead Technologists to assist in the development of QA programs in their respective areas. 5%

QualificationsEducation and/or Experience Required:
- Education: Registered as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology; ARRT (R) in good standing.
- Experience: 2 years of Radiology experience
Education and/or Experience Preferred:
- Education: Multi-modality experience preferred
- Experience:
- 5 years of Radiology experience
- Competent in Microsoft Office
License and/or Certification Required:
- Current State of Connecticut Radiographer License.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of date of hire.
