Reporting to: Dean of Health Sciences & Human Services

Salary:

Classification 8, $26.74 - $27.57 per hour in accordance with the BCGEU Support Collective Agreement. Temporary employees receive an additional $0.58/hour in lieu of benefits and 6% vacation pay included with each pay period. The Christmas closure period (December 25 – January 1) is unpaid time.

Description:

NLC's Health Sciences programs is currently looking to hire a relief on-call Program Support Clerk to help support a team of health science and human service instructors. The successful applicants are required to have effective teamwork skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to perform a variety of clerical support tasks.

Typical duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • typing, filing, photocopying, word processing and data entry.
  • record keeping, minute taking, and report compilation for the BC Care Aide Registry, British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals, and additional Health-related bodies.
  • Ordering, receiving, and stocking equipment and supplies for the nursing lab.
  • Creating and updates timetable and scheduling requests
  • Updating and maintaining program procedure manuals and handbooks, and
  • Provide technical support to instructors by ensuring simulation and other technical equipment is operational and by assisting with lab set up.
  • Entering and managing requests for clinical placements in HSPnet system.

Qualifications:

In order to be considered for this position, you will need to have completed Grade 12 and a post-secondary Office Administration program or have an equivalent combination of education and office experience.

Preference will be given to those who have previous work experience in the health care field.

Experience with and knowledge of Campus policies, procedures and conditions would be an asset. Successful completion of clerical testing may be required.
