HOURS: M-Th 40hr work week. Ability to work after hours schedule as needed.
SALARY: $63,585.60 per year
SUMMARY
Under general supervision from the Director, this position is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Public Health department.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Assigns, directs, and supervises clerical staff, ensuring adherence to established laws, regulations, and policies.
Administers routine personnel matters affecting subordinates, including assigning, scheduling, granting leave, appraising and disciplining; assists in hiring and training of clerical staff.
Supervise appointment, schedules and payments for all clinical operations.
Provides administrative support for the Amarillo Area Public Health Board and the Amarillo Hospital District Indigent Care and Funding Priorities Committee.
Coordinates the electronic medical record efforts for the department.
Coordinates staff training for departmental computer programs and cross-trains staff in registering patients and ordering lab work.
Serves as Local Responsible Party for information privacy and security.
Establishes and oversees billing practices.
Oversees credentialing for all physicians who work for the department.
Maintains all records and keeps up to date information on physicians in order to maintain current status with Medicaid/Medicare.
Maintains pharmacy license for the department.
Maintains CLIA certification for the department.
Planning staff meetings and in service training to ensure appropriate information sharing.
Provides staff on-boarding and coordinates LMS.
Serves as Accreditation coordinator.
Serves as secondary coordinator for DSRIP projects.
Assists with record retention for the department.
Coordinates department vehicle maintenance.
Coordinates the performance of program evaluations/quality assurance.
Participates in public health preparedness responses.
Oversees and manages grant inventory for departmental programs.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
This position requires a Bachelorβs Degree in Public Health, Public Administration, Business Management or a related field and a minimum of five years of related experience. Valid Texas Driverβs License reliable transportation with proof of current vehicle insurance, required.

Ability to operate computers for data entry and word processing.
Strong verbal and written communication skill.
Ability to operate small office equipment, including copy machines or multi-line telephone systems.
Ability to work after hours schedule as needed.
