Swedish Match product portfolio and operations are growing, and we are looking for Product & Process Improvement Engineers to help us improve product quality, optimize manufacturing processes, and support future growth. In this role, you will work at the intersection of product development, production, and customer needs. Using data, analysis, and scientific methods, you will identify improvement opportunities, solve quality challenges, and drive more efficient and sustainable processes.

Main responsibilities
As a Product & Process Improvement Engineer you will improve product and process performance by identifying areas for optimization and applying a rigorous scientific approach. You will be the link between development, production, and customer needs, filling the gap of understanding on material, process, product and formulations.
By analyzing manufacturing data, performing root cause analysis, evaluating process parameters impact on product attributes and implementing corrective actions you will help streamline operations, reduce waste, and maximize productivity, balancing speed to delivery and scientific accuracy.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Address characterization gaps for chemical and physical characteristics of semi-finished products, pouches, and finished goods to improve specifications and technical sheets.
• Identify root causes of priority consumer complaints and develop mitigation plans to align products performance with quality and expectations.
• Analyze manufacturing losses and implement corrective actions to improve product quality and efficiency.
• Adapt product designs to support company strategy and market growth; enhance technical sheets for second-source qualification amid regulatory changes.
• Assess ingredient aging, storage, and variability effects on quality, providing specification feedback.
• Drive continuous improvement aligned with consumer needs, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing goals.
• Prepare for material replacements in line with product roadmap and sustainability targets.
• Apply scientific methods in test design and data analysis for actionable insights ensuring knowledge building and retention through scientific reports.

This position belongs to Innovation & Product Development and is based in Gothenburg. You will report to Manager Technical Product & Change Management. Please note that relocation support is not available for this
position.
