Job Description

Orchard, a leading medical communications agency based in Sydney, Australia, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Medical Copywriter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing compelling and accurate medical content for a diverse range of clients in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.

• Translate complex medical/scientific concepts into clear, concise copy
• Create branded HCP campaign materials including websites, detail aids, leave behinds, emails
• Create HCP medical education campaign materials including slide decks, invites, workbooks, and other collateral
• Lead brands from both strategy and copy perspectives with minimal oversight
• Drive the editorial process from first draft to final proof; ensure accuracy and quality
• Partner with design, strategy, account, and project management teams
• Ensure all content is on-brand and Code-compliant
• Drive copy and strategic perspectives in client meetings
• Manage competing priorities
• Provide oversight, guidance and support to junior writers
• Play a key role in researching and developing content for proposals and pitch presentations
• Stay up to date on current trends in medical education and pharma industry developments

Qualifications

• Graduate degree or PhD in sciences discipline  
• 5 years + medical writing experience  
• HCP pharmaceutical advertising agency experience
• Expertise in claim development and substantiation
• Comfort working across multiple therapeutic areas and lifecycle stages (pre‑launch to brand maintenance)
• Have strong presentation and pitching experience
• Clear understanding of Medicines Australia Code of Conduct 
• Highly proficient with Veeva/PromoMats 
• Meticulous attention to detail, quality, and version control
• Strong time management in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
