    POSITION AVAILABLE:  Mental Health Consultant OR Mental Health Professional
     

    POSITION LOCATION:  Southwest West Central Service Cooperative (SWWC) region serving the Marshall, MN area.

    POSITION SUMMARY:  
    Mental Health Consultant: The Mental Health Consultant provides training and consultation support to school district personnel, families and other governmental agencies who are supporting children that have emotional, social, personal or family issues that are interfering with achievement or personal well-being.

    Mental Health Professional: The Mental Health Professional applies clinical knowledge, skills and values in the differential diagnosis and treatment of psychosocial function, disability, or impairment including addictions and emotional, mental and behavioral disorders. Interventions require a plan based on differential diagnosis. Services may include, but are not limited to, the provision of psychotherapy to students, employees, families and groups. 

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: 
    Mental Health Consultant: Provides in-service training; Works with families and/or children that have emotional, social, personal or family issues that are interfering with achievement or personal well-being; Works with school personnel and other agencies as an advocate of the family/child and promotes better understanding of child's educational and personal needs; Collaborates with children, parents, teachers, County Case Managers and other professionals to provide consistent intervention for children and works as a school liaison between the school and outside agencies on behalf of the school and/or family/child; Contacts the family for the purpose of gathering helpful information about the family and to provide support; Participates in conferences and meetings with parents, teachers, administrators, area professionals and children; Maintains appropriate documentation of family/child involvement; Adheres to all due process procedures and compliance requirements; and performs other duties as assigned.

    Mental Health Professional: Conducts diagnostic assessment(s) and other assessments as required;Develops individual treatment plan and progress reviews;Provides individual and group therapy as needed;Completes necessary documentation in timely, professional, and ethical manner;Communicates with families to update them about progress or concerns of students;Assists staff in child crisis management as needed;Collaborates with schools, Social Services, and other providers; Helps promote Southwest/West Central Service Cooperative mental health programming to community and other professionals;Provides nonclinical and clinical supervision to mental health staff as required;Certifies that services provided are medically necessary;Submits data for third party billing as required;Provides in-service training and professional development for school districts and other entities;Provides good public relations and customer service with staff, parents and the general public;Performs other duties as assigned.
     

    EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:  
    Mental Health Consultant: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree required; however Master's Degree in Social Work is preferred with moderate experience in a job related field.  Must possess the following and/or willing to obtain licensure as a Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and have a valid drivers license.

    Mental Health Professional: Minimum of a Master's Degree required in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Mental Health Consulting or Counseling. Must possess the following and/or willing to obtain licensure as Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Psychologist (LP), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC); Minimum of 30 hours training in licensing supervision, maintaining 6 hours related continuing education annually; Valid Driver's License.

    CONTRACT/SALARY: Full-time position for the 2026-2027 year.  Position to begin August 4, 2026.  
    Mental Health Consultant: Salary range of $54,477 to $98,387 dependent upon education, qualifications and experience. 

    Mental Health Professional: Salary range of $67,567 to $96,232 dependent upon education, qualifications and experience.
