Job responsibilities:


·      Oversee comprehensive reviews of systematic epidemiological literature and relevant databases or disease registries to inform strategic decisions. 

·      Direct the generation of accurate and scientifically robust estimates of disease incidence, prevalence, and population size, ensuring adherence to best practices. 

·      Lead the development of innovative epidemiological models that project future disease estimates based on current data and emerging trends. 

·      Foster a culture of innovation by encouraging solutions that provide critical epidemiological insights, particularly in areas with limited existing evidence. 

·      Demonstrate the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple competing priorities and fostering team collaboration. 

·      Mentor and develop team members, promoting professional growth and expertise in epidemiology and biostatistics. 

·      Provide expert statistical guidance to enhance the utility of real-world data, ensuring rigorous scientific standards and methodologies are upheld. 

·      Collaborate with project teams to offer statistical counsel and effectively communicate resource requirements for studies and initiatives. 

 

Key requirements:


·      Advanced degree: Master of public health (or equivalent), MS in biostatistics, or PhD w/ focus in epidemiology or a related discipline.

·      At least 6 years of relevant experience.

·      Proven track record of robust secondary research and analysis capabilities, particularly in navigating scientific literature and conducting comprehensive internet searches. 

·      A history of publishing research findings in peer-reviewed journals, highlighting contributions to the field.  

·      Strong analytical and problem-solving skills essential for deriving epidemiological estimates and addressing complex health challenges. 

·      Experience in leading modeling efforts, including constructing patient-based epidemiological models across various therapeutic areas, simulation, and data visualization.  

·      Extensive experience in the healthcare industry, public health sector, or organizations specializing in healthcare consulting, syndicated reporting, or competitive intelligence. 

·      Experience in oncology preferred, but not required.

·      Relevant course work and experience around experimental design. 

·      Working knowledge/ability to use standard statistical packages (i.e. SAS, STATA, etc.). 

·      Good understanding of advanced design and analysis techniques used in the analysis of secondary data (e.g., matching, multivariate regression, meta-analysis, etc.). 

·      Working knowledge of 2 or more secondary database types (e.g. surveys, electronic medical records). 

·      Ability to communicate complex statistical concepts clearly and effectively to non-technical stakeholders. 

·      Expertise in data management and cleaning techniques to ensure high-quality datasets for analysis. 

·      English fluency (spoken and written). 

·      Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to present findings clearly to diverse audiences.  

·      Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; advanced modeling skills in Excel are a significant advantage.  

·      Demonstrated experience in prior leadership roles, where you successfully guided teams to achieve strategic objectives, fostered collaboration, and implemented innovative solutions. 

·      Clinical trial knowledge. 

·      Proven experience in interpretation of primary market research (both qualitative and quantitative).
