Job Description


1.    This individual will report to the Head of the Anatomy Education Division within the Department of Medical Education. 
2.    This individual will work to oversee the maintenance of the physical plants and laboratory spaces utilized for the teaching of anatomical sciences. These sites include, but are not limited to, Dissection Facilities on East Falls, Voorhees, NJ, and Center City campuses (including the embalming suite and morgue), JAH 201 and Curtis 220 which are utilized by over 1000 students and physicians each year.
3.    This individual will oversee ordering, inventory, distribution of all supplies and equipment for university courses run in the facilities which include but are not restricted to courses in the life sciences in the Sidney Kimmel College of Medicine, the College of Life Sciences, College of Rehabilitation Sciences and The College of Health Professions.
4.    This individual will work directly with University Health and Safety officers across various campuses to create, update, and enforce all safety protocols for the educational facilities and ensure students, faculty, staff, vendors and visitors to the facilities users are working within OSHA guidelines.
5.    This individual will maintain SOPs and be responsible for developing a process for continual quality improvement within the Health Science Education Laboratories. 
6.    This individual will coordinate with staff, faculty and TJU Security in the ordering, receiving, tracking, utilization and disposition of human cadavers from outside procurement agencies or the Humanity Gift Registry (HGR). This includes but is not restricted to entire cadavers, prosections and isolated organs.
7.    This individual will coordinate the preparation of HGR specimens for cremation, receiving, secure storage and disposition of all cremated remains.
8.    This individual will oversee the procurement and /or preparation of cadaveric body parts and generation of prosections for use in additional educational programs (i.e. GME, CME) which include, but are not restricted to: Midwifery, Neurosurgery, Otolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Urology and Rehab Medicine  
9.    This individual will oversee the training of new faculty and staff in special procedures performed on cadaveric specimens.
10.    This individual will assist in the set-up, proctoring and breakdown of all anatomy practical examinations run in the facilities
11.    This individual will work with clinical departments and outside vendors in the design, execution and break down of additional programs 
12.    This individual will coordinate with various university departments to ensure the upkeep of all educational technology in the educational facilities.
13.    This individual will oversee the clean-up, disinfection and/or disposal of materials used in labs and ensures disposition follows OSHA guidelines. This includes, but is not restricted to; cadaveric remains, dissection equipment, autopsy tables/tanks and headrests.
14.    This individual will maintain the Dissection Facilities calendars and use such to efficiently coordinate all activities
