PURPOSE
The Behavioral Health Coach enhances PreK12 learning environments by building districtwide capacity to support students with behavioral health and social-emotional needs. The position provides trauma-and stress-informed de-escalation training, develops and delivers curriculum for the Behavioral Health Coaching & Training Academy, and offers individualized coaching, classroom support, and consultation to educators and support staff. The role supports the implementation of behavior intervention strategies, assists with crisis response, contributes to multidisciplinary teams, and collaborates with Student Services, Safety and Risk Management, HR, and school-based staff to ensure safe, legally compliant, and culturally responsive practices. Through expert guidance, data-informed decision making, and a commitment to continuous improvement, the Behavioral Health Coach strengthens the district's capacity to create safe, inclusive, and supportive environments for all students and staff.
*The Department of Behavioral Health is looking to hire a Behavioral Health Coach for our Coaching and Training Academy who is both technically proficient and relationally strong. We will prioritize candidates with expertise in trauma-informed practices, crisis intervention, and behavior systems, but who can also translate that knowledge into practical, coachable strategies for staff and students across diverse school environments. The ideal candidate would be calm and decisive under pressure, able to lead during high-stress situations while maintaining legal compliance and student-centered integrity. We are looking for professionals who build credibility through modeling, not just trainingsomeone who can step into classrooms, support teams, and elevate districtwide capacity through data-informed coaching. Finally, we want someone who aligns tightly with core valuesequity, relationships, and communitywhile holding high standards for safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
