Silver Fern Farms is looking for an Injury Prevention Advisor to strengthen our focus on proactive health, injury prevention, and safer work design. You’ll travel regularly to our sites across NZ to deliver work focused on reducing injuries, improving wellbeing, and embedding best-practices.

You’ll deliver key programmes such as Move Well, our musculoskeletal training programme, designed to reduce the risk of work-related pain, discomfort and injury, such as sprains and strains, while advising on broader health promotion initiatives including conditioning, fatigue, and physical wellbeing.

Additionally, you’ll work closely with leaders, site teams, and the wider HSW function to support projects, strengthen standards, and uplift capability across the business.

This role is fixed-term, based from our Dunedin Hub, covering parental leave for a year. We are looking for someone to join the team from January 2026.

Key Responsibilities cover:

Project Support & Delivery

  • Travel regularly to sites to deliver training, consultation, and programme rollout
  • Support projects such as Early Intervention, Move Well, ergonomics, and health promotion
  • Monitor programme effectiveness and recommend enhancements
  • Provide flexibility to support broader HSW projects when needed

Health, Safety & Wellbeing Performance

  • Promote and embed best practice injury prevention approaches
  • Analyse injury and illness trends to identify risk areas and action mitigations into programmes
  • Partner with leaders on corrective actions and improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with Ora Standards, policies, and relevant legislation

Systems & Risk Management

  • Provide advice and training on relevant systems (e.g., iLeader, our data management system, and Soter, a wearable technology that provides ergonomic safety insights)
  • Apply risk-management principles in all decision making
  • Support sites to develop local programmes and management plans
  • Role model safe behaviours, including fitness for work and reporting
