Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit Institution dedicated to education, research, healthcare, and service seeks a subject specialist in the biomedical sciences for a position as health sciences reference librarian at the Medical Center Library ( MCL ). Duties: This position provides biomedical reference services that include assisting health sciences faculty and students in the effective use of their literature; participating in the libraryβs program of instruction; and serving as clinical services liaison to faculty, students, and staff at our Medical Center and affiliated hospitals. Environment: Collegial, collaborative, and mission-focused, the Medical Center Library provides library services to faculty, students, and staff in the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Doisy College of Health Sciences, Public Health, and the Center for Advanced Dental Education. Saint Louis University libraries are a member of MOBIUS , a statewide academic library resource sharing consortium. Requirements: MLS from an ALA accredited program. Advanced education beyond the bachelorβs degree in a health science discipline. Demonstrated knowledge in a medical or health sciences subject area. Experience with evidence-based clinical practice and systematic reviews. Successful decision making, problem solving ability, and planning skills. Strong user centered approach to library services and information technology. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability and motivation for continuous professional development and for growth as a faculty member. Ability to meet deadlines and to work effectively in an environment of rapid development and change. Rank/Grade: Assistant or Associate Professor rank, non-tenure track, 12-month contract. Salary and Benefits: Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience.
