Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Strong organizational skills are required
  • Ability multitask
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of all records and legal information
  • Ability to complete work assignments accurately in a timely manner
  • Basic computer skill is a must
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work well with others in the spirit of teamwork
  • Ability to possibly handle difficult situations
  • Strong customer service skills are required
  • Medical Records experience is preferred
  • Ability to navigate an EMR system preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
Job Duties:
  • Scan and sort patient records into a data system
  • Responds to ROI request for medical records- Walk-ins, fax, or mail
  • Validate requests and authorizations for the release of medical information
  • Ensure the information is being released correctly to the patient
  • Answer the medical records phone line
  • Adhere to organization requirements and policies
  • Filing and pulling medical records as needed
  • Back-up for court filing as needed
