DescriptionThis position will work within parameters set by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. and/or other specified governing body, to perform all roles and responsibilities. The Health Educator will work under the general direction of the Atlantic Corporate Health (ACH) manager, management team, and Medical Director. This health professional is responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of comprehensive health and wellness initiatives designed to engage client-company employees or target audience.
Essential Job Functions
Complete specific onsite-contracted functions, such as and not limited to (when appropriate):
- Act as a liaison for on-site clinicians in the delivery of corporate services including employer-based fitness center programming, health fairs, satellite and live lunch and learn programs and screenings; administer and lead wellness coalition or ACH service line; leverage existing health and wellness vendors to support department initiatives, (i.e., EAP, online coaching vendor, graphic design vendors, online wellness platforms, etc.) and procure additional wellness and health related vendors and maintain contract and vendor related services; promote each health and wellness initiative using the internal communication systems and protocol; provide program consultation, administrative, and technical assistance to corporate benefits personnel; upsell Atlantic Health / ACH suite of services; works in conjunction with corporation representative focusing on achieving corporate health and wellness goals and objectives.
- Conduct and assist with the: Assessment/Research, Design/Development, Implementation/Instruction, Administration/Coordination, Data Management/Monitoring, Process Improvement, Evaluation/Reporting of health and wellness promotion programs using health promotion theory, ecological framework, and scientifically proven methods; including, but not limited to, incentivized/non-incentivized programming, benefits design, and/or business function support for internal and external consumers, that follows approved Atlantic Corporate Health policy and procedures and works within CHES®/CCWS®/or other fitness/nutrition/counseling/etc. credentialing body’s nature and scope.

- Support Atlantic Corporate Health departmental growth initiatives
- Support the Atlantic Health system priorities
- Perform all other duties as assigned
QualificationsEducation—
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Health Education/Promotion, Nutrition, Public Health, Exercise Science, Social Work, or related field required
Certifications and Licenses— Must maintain one or more of the applicable certifications and licenses:
- Certified Health Education Specialist (M/CHES®), CCWS®, tier one fitness (ACSM, NSCA, ACE), Registered Dietitian/nutrition, and/or LSW, required (and RYT [yoga certification] a plus)
- BLS certification, or the ability to obtain post hire, required
- Valid Driver’s License and method of transportation, required
Essential Experience and Skills—
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Services
- Proven success with customer service and client responsiveness
- Strong proficiency in both written and spoken communications
- Strong proficiency in both written and spoken Spanish, a plus
- Work experience in a corporate worksite health promotion setting, knowledge of current health related issues as well as trends that are of concern to diverse employee populations, preferred
