Job Description: Under the direction of the Manager, Respiratory Services, the Educator integrates knowledge and skill reflecting Respiratory Services' model of care and principles of adult learning, to provide education, research, and quality client centered care for a defined group of clients and programs. The incumbent provides visible, proactive leadership and promote the delivery of client centered care through the application of professional standards. In consultation with the Manager and Program Coordinators, the individual assesses learning needs of staff and students, plans, implements and evaluates education activities/programs. The Educator uses a consultative approach and research findings to provide support to health care professionals. The position will have specific responsibilities related to specialized client needs and clinical knowledge. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS membersΒ in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

Experience
- Requires a minimum of four (4) years' experience related to the clinical area.
- Experience in program/resource development
Education
- Respiratory Therapy diploma (RT)
- Requires or in progress towards a Baccalaureate degree in a health related field
Other Education and Training
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate (ACLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certificate (PALS)
