About Monash Health Women’s and Newborn
Monash Women’s Maternity Service is part of Monash Health. It is the largest maternity service in the State of Victoria, providing care to nearly 12000 births each year across four hospitals (Clayton, Dandenong, Casey and Sandringham) as an integrated, seamless service. As expected for such a large service, Monash Woman’s provides maternity care for normal, healthy women and also for women with complex and sub-speciality needs. Casey, Dandenong and Sandringham Hospital provide a full suite of Level 4-5 maternity services (as per Victorian Maternity services Framework), including outpatient pregnancy care clinics, inpatient services and a domiciliary postnatal service. It is at Monash Medical Centre that subspecialty care in Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Fetal medicine is provided.
Gynaecology services is similarly provided across all Monash Health Hospital campuses, including community hospitals and outpatient services. We are proud of our centres of excellence in endometriosis and advanced endo-surgery, pelvic floor, gynaecology oncology, paediatric and adolescent care, and we are the largest provider of gynaecology outpatient and surgical.
About the Role
Monash Women’s is seeking to appoint experienced and compassionate sessional Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology Clinical Consultant(s) to support the care of paediatric and adolescent patients across Monash Health.
This offers a unique opportunity to contribute to an important area of children’s and young women’s health. Clinic and theatre sessions are available primarily at the Monash Children’s Hospital, in Clayton. Each clinic session will be paid for 3 hours, with sessions offered weekly on Fridays. Theatre sessions are ad hoc and paid according to the time involved.
Successful applicants will:
Involvement in broader Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology-related activities eg Australian and New Zealand Society of Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology, local and international conferences is strongly encouraged to continually develop knowledge and skills in this highly specialised area of gynaecology.
Flexibility: The available hours may be allocated to multiple consultants.
