Full Time - Health Educator - Peekskill

Summary: 

The Health Educator will work with the CAPP (Comprehensive Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention) Program serving parents and youth between the ages of 10-21.  The CAPP program provides comprehensive adolescent health education and ensures access to health care and family planning services as needed. The Health Educator will also deliver evidenced-based school programming in the Peekskill and Yonkers communities targeting parents with the goal of improving parent-child communication to support the development of positive health behaviors among youth. The Health Educator will help parents obtain the skills needed to support effective parent-child communication related to sexual health topics including alternatives to sexual activity, family planning and to develop skills that will support the adolescent’s successful transition into healthy young adulthood.

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: $24 - 27 per hour 

Sign On Bonus: $1500

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Completing orientation and trainings prior to delivering evidence-based programming.
• Conducting community outreach and education
• Provide assistance and/or referrals for youth to obtain comprehensive family planning services, health services or other essential support services as identified.
• Delivering evidenced-based programming with fidelity to parents and youth in a variety of settings.
• Complete required reporting accurately and timely as designated.
