Human Services Consultants (HSC) is a foster care agency specializing in therapeutic foster care. We've provided services to foster care families for over twenty-five years. We train and help license qualified families to assist in healing trauma experienced by children and adolescents. HSC realizes the value of every child, and their right to live in a healthy environment that offers the opportunity for a good life.
We are currently looking for a Licensing & Clinical Support Specialist to help support our foster families and the children placed in their care. We aim to provide community-based services to children and families that promote and enable self-sufficiency and stability.
A Licensing & Clinical Support Specialist manages and coordinates all activities related to the assignment and placement of foster children with approved foster parents in order to meet the goals and objective in the prescribed treatment plan for the child. The Specialist ensures that the licensing and training is up to date. They conduct home visits and monitor homes for safety and health. The Specialist typically has a case load of 7- 10 families.
Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist foster parents in providing the foster child(ren) with opportunities for the child to effectively manage their behaviors.
- Interactive positively and appropriately (able to set professional boundaries) with foster parents and child(ren) when conducting home visits, meetings, CFT's, Court, etc.
- Assist foster parents and child(ren) in all areas of well-being needs (e.g. Emotional, Education, Moral, Spiritual, Social, and Physical.
- Facilitate the processing of amendments to existing licenses and renewals, as well as assisting in formulating corrective action plans when needed.
- Assist with crisis management and de-escalation techniques as needed.
- Responds to foster care inquiries and screening for the licensing process.
- Requests and tracks foster parent licensing forms to aid in the completion of renewal licenses.
- Documents case notes for each child on caseload, as necessary to detail treatment, progress, advocacy, research, team meetings, needs and concerns, discharge plans, etc.
- Participate in foster parent training events.
- Attend professional seminars and workshops.
- Comply with all regulations and organization and department policies.
- Maintain and safeguard the confidentiality of all clients and foster parent records in accordance with Arizona statutes, administrative rules and regulations.
- Attend and participate in weekly licensing and staffing meetings.
- Perform miscellaneous office activities as need to support our small and collaborative agency.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from accredited University or College.
- Must have a minimum of one year of experience in child welfare.
- Must have at least one year of previous experience in social work, behavioral health or related field.
- Previous training and/or experience in the field of behavioral science.
- Previous experience in social work and/or casework.
- Knowledge of licensing process preferred.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
