Description

ProMedica Physicians Group (PPG) is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Medicine Physician to join our Monroe Family Medicine Residency program as faculty in Monroe, MI.

  • Monday – Friday schedule with occasional weekend support
    • 8-12 hours per week residency administrative time
    • 12 hours per week direct patient care
    • Remaining hours consist of residency supervision of clinical time
  • Limited back up call requirement for residents (outpatient only) rotates 1 out of every 8 weeks
  • Full front office staff support to include MA’s, Quality Nurse, and 2 residency coordinators
  • Onsite PsyD who see patients and conducts evaluations in office
  • Opportunities to support other ancillary service lines for those interested (not required)

The ProMedica Monroe Family Medicine Residency is an 8-8-8 program with a strong emphasis on broad-spectrum training.  As the only residency within the hospital, our program offers unique, comprehensive exposure to a wide range of clinical experiences.  Faculty are actively involved in inpatient medicine, addiction medicine, geriatric care – including nursing home, newborn rounding, osteopathic manipulations and obstetrics.  The program places a strong focus on procedural training, with faculty performing vasectomies, paracentesis, and colposcopy, along with numerous dermatologic, musculoskeletal, and gynecologic procedures.  Additionally, we are proud to have a dedicated PsyD onsite who evaluates and manages patients within our office.  Our program and faculty are very involved in the community as well.  We staff Faith Works, a free clinic, many Special Olympics events, speak regularly at the senior center and participate in many community health fairs.

Requirements
  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.    
  • Valid medical license to practice in Michigan
  • Valid DEA License    
  • Board certification in Family Medicine    
  • New graduates and experienced providers are both encouraged to apply.    
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification.     

   PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • DO interested in providing OMT or OMM
  • Interest in rounding at local Nursing Homes
