Position Summary:<\/b>
<\/p>

The Hospital Educator, Employee Health & Staff Development Coordinator is responsible for developing and managing education, training, and employee health programs across the hospital. This includes orientation, certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS), annual competencies, and continuing education, as well as oversight of the Employee Health and Occupational Health Program. This role ensures regulatory compliance, promotes a culture of safety and wellness, and supports quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:<\/b>
<\/p>

Education & Staff Development<\/b>
<\/p>

  • Develop and facilitate hospital -wide education programs.
    <\/li>
  • Conduct and oversee BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification trainings.
    <\/li>
  • Coordinate new employee orientation, including initial competencies and policy review.
    <\/li>
  • Plan and lead annual skills validations and competency trainings.
    <\/li>
  • Act as an educational resource for both clinical and non -clinical staff.
    <\/li>
  • Maintain training records and compliance documentation.
    <\/li>
  • Collaborate with external organizations to enhance educational opportunities.
    <\/li><\/ul>

    Employee & Occupational Health<\/b>
    <\/p>

    • Administer the Employee Health & Occupational Health Program in accordance with OSHA, CDC, and hospital policies.
      <\/li>
    • Oversee pre -employment screenings: TB tests, immunizations, drug tests, and fitness evaluations.
      <\/li>
    • Coordinate annual health screenings (e.g., flu shots, TB testing, fit tests).
      <\/li>
    • Manage work -related injury documentation and workers’ comp processes.
      <\/li>
    • Conduct exposure follow -up and post -exposure protocols.
      <\/li>
    • Promote wellness initiatives, safety programs, and ergonomic assessments.
      <\/li>
    • Maintain confidential employee health records in compliance with HIPAA.

      Additional Duties<\/b>
      <\/p>

      • Participate in hospital committees related to education, infection control, and compliance.
        <\/li>
      • Assist with hospital policy development and revisions.
        <\/li>
      • Support accreditation, licensing, and survey readiness efforts.
        <\/li>
      • Perform additional duties as required to meet hospital goals.
        <\/li><\/ul>

        Qualifications:<\/b>
        <\/p>

        • Education:<\/b> Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required. Master’s degree preferred.
          <\/li>
        • Experience:<\/b> Minimum of 3 -5 years in healthcare education, staff development, employee health, or occupational health.
          <\/li>
        • Certifications:<\/b> BLS, ACLS, and PALS instructor certifications (or ability to obtain within a designated timeframe). Preferred: Certification in Employee Health, Occupational Health, or Infection Control.
