There is currently one permanent, whole-time vacancy available in IHA Dublin South Wicklow Primary Location Hawthorns Stillorgan. Secondary Location Bray Co. Wicklow (No travel time or payment applies to going from home to either base location)

A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for Speech and Language Therapist, Clinical Specialist- Disability Services, IHA Dublin south & Wicklow from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.

Purpose of the Post:

The Speech and Language Therapist, Clinical Specialist will provide advanced assessment, intervention and clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary disability service supporting adults with complex intellectual and/or physical disabilities.

The postholder will deliver evidence-informed, person-centred and trauma-informed communication and swallowing interventions that support individuals to communicate effectively, participate in daily life, and maintain safety in eating, drinking and swallowing.

Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, individuals, families and circles of support, the Clinical Specialist will contribute to holistic assessment, integrated care planning and coordinated interventions that promote inclusion, autonomy and quality of life.

The role will also contribute to clinical governance, service development, quality improvement and capacity building across the service, supporting best practice in Speech and Language Therapy within disability services and promoting a human rights–based approach to care in line with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).
