Description This Diabetes Educator, Nurse CDCES provides group and individual self-management diabetes education to outpatients. Functions with a competency level of Diabetes Educator Level 2, working towards a Level 3. This position may be required to travel to other facilities.
Work Schedule: 32 hours weekly; .8 FTE Days
Required Qualifications:
- Degree in Nursing or Dietetics
- At least 2 years post education nursing experience
- Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist (CDCES) through Certification Board for Diabetes Care & Education (CBDCE)
- If Dietitian, must be Registered Dietitian through Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) upon start.
- Must be licensed as a Certified Dietitian through WI Department of Safety & Professional Services (If WI certification is not present at hire, must obtain within 4 months of start)
- If Registered Nurse, must be licensed in both MN and WI upon start date. If both licenses are not present upon start, must have either MN or WI RN license and must obtain alternate state license within 4 months of start.
- Current BLS – American Heart Association or BLS – American Red Cross (CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer & Health Care Provider)
