How you’ll contribute
A Diabetes Educator who excels in this role:
Independently writes, communicates, and implements teaching interventions for patients, families, significant others.
- Delivers educational material using teaching principals and a variety of formats for new pediatric inpatients and outpatients in group and individual sessions.
- Delivers educational material appropriate for identified needs utilizing knowledge of growth and development for outpatients in group and individual sessions.
- Assists to maintain diabetes supplies.
- Provides back up and assists other staff, as necessary.
What we’re looking for
Minimum Education Associate’s Degree in Nursing OR Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics
*Years of relevant experience may be substituted for required education.
- Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP);
- Registered Dietitian Certification OR Registered Nurse (RN);
- Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) (within 2 years of hire)
