DescriptionJurong Port’s multipurpose port operating expertise includes efficient handling of general, bulk and containerized cargo, management and operations of the Tuas Offshore Marine Centre, and Lighter Terminals in Penjuru and Marina South. Besides Singapore, Jurong Port is involved in overseas joint ventures in China and Indonesia. In 2016, Jurong Port’s local and overseas terminals handled close to 35 million tons of general and bulk cargo, and 560,000 TEUs of container cargo.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Safety Management
- Upholding compliance to JP’s WSH standards to minimize operational risks and disruptions, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel, contractors, and stakeholders within the port facilities
- Proactively identifying and mitigating risks associated with port operations, cargo handling, and vessel movements
- Ensure that JP receives notification on all high-risk work activities conducted by contractors at OMC sites and to advise if there are areas to improve in a safer manner
- Ensuring safety of OMC users via oversight of general housekeeping of the facility
- Security Management
- Ensure compliance to ISPS Code requirements with existing security contractor
- Implementing and maintaining the Port Facility Security Plan (PFSP), ensuring it remains up-to-date, effective, and aligned with ISPS Code standards.
- Ensuring OMCs are compliant to JP’s updated security policies as well as relevant authorities
- Ensuring all security hardware and equipment is maintained and updated as required
- Audits/Drills and Expense Management
- Key point of contact for all required safety / security drills and audit checks
- Ensure all relevant documentation is kept properly for retrieval as and when required for audits or review
- Ensure that expense management for all safety and security requirements are accounted for and properly executed
- Ensure all safety/incident reporting is done timely and reported accurately and with facts and mitigation presented to management
Job Requirement
- Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime Studies / Maritime, Workplace Safety & Health / Occupational Safety, Security Management, Marine Engineering or Engineering with relevant WSH and security experience.
- Minimum over 5 years of relevant working experience in safety and security
- Registered Safety Officer (RSO) with MOM is mandatory.
- Proficient in MS office and comfortable with presenting to management
