Healthcare Tech & Health Informatics

We are hiring on behalf of our client, a leading international healthcare organization building a next-generation Data Platform for Europe’s largest network of IVF and fertility clinics. Their mission is to unify data across 50+ clinics, enabling advanced analytics, digital services, and AI innovation in healthcare.

Our client is seeking a Data Engineering Lead / Backend Engineering Manager to take day-to-day ownership of the engineering team. This leader will drive delivery of data products, manage team ceremonies and backlog, and ensure smooth execution—freeing the Head of Data to focus on strategic programs and executive-level stakeholder management.

You will also play a pivotal role in the platform’s ongoing transition: moving from the current stack (Keboola, Snowflake, dbt) toward Microsoft Fabric, which is currently under Proof of Concept.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the backend engineering team: backlog ownership, task breakdown, sprint ceremonies, and delivery management.

  • Act as the day-to-day owner of engineering execution (“chief of staff” for the Head of Data).

  • Drive the transition from Keboola, Snowflake, and dbt to Microsoft Fabric.

  • Ensure quality and stability of data pipelines, models, and dashboards (Power BI, Tableau).

  • Collaborate with the Frontend Lead, Product Owners, Data Governance Council, and non-technical stakeholders to align delivery with business priorities.

  • Mentor and grow a team of engineers, fostering collaboration and accountability.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in data engineering and team leadership.
  • Hands-on expertise with the modern data stack (dbt, Snowflake, SQL, Python).
  • Exposure to the Microsoft ecosystem (Power BI, Azure, Fabric) is a plus – enthusiasm to learn is key.
  • Strong delivery and people leadership skills: backlog management, sprint planning, developer guidance.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English; other European languages are a plus but not required.
  • Based in Prague or willing to visit Prague regularly (hybrid).

Benefits

  • Lead the engineering team shaping a next-generation healthcare data platform.
  • Gain exposure to Microsoft Fabric at scale.
  • Contribute to an international healthcare environment with strong purpose and impact.
  • Competitive compensation, flexible work setup, and career growth opportunities.
  • Freelance or permanent contract.
  • Hybrid regime.
