Clinical Support Staff

 

Location: 2 Wisconsin Circle, Chevy Chase, Maryland 

Hourly Pay Rate: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour, DOE

 

Part-Time 20-25 hours per week / On Site

As a Clinical Support Staff member in our Chevy Chase IOP and PHP clinic, you’ll gain hands‑on experience in mental health care, build healing connections with both clients and clinicians, and develop valuable skills that support your future in the behavioral health field.
 

Every day, you'll support the outpatient behavioral health team by helping lead group therapy, assisting medical professionals, managing appointments and check‑ins, collecting patient and insurance information, supporting coworkers, and helping clients practice emotional‑regulation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the clinical staff in supporting clients in treatment groups and activities.
  • Supervises clients and ensures that they are being safe to themselves and to those around them.
  • Completes client check ins and check outs and orients new clients to group rules and norms.
  • Prepares materials and sets up the room for group therapy. Helps clean up and close down the room after groups are completed.
  • Observes and charts student behavior, affect, and participation.
  • Provides care for and monitors symptoms of individuals with moderate or high risk of suicide and assists clinical team in assessing clients for suicide risk including performing appropriate screening for suicide risk when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Behavioral Sciences
  • Experience working in a behavioral health setting and/or working with youth
  • Experience working with neurodivergent individuals, familiarity with ABA, clinical documentation and working with insurance all a plus
  • Ability to pass a state background check
  • Effective communication skills
  • Team player
  • Flexibility a must
  • First Aid & CPR certified
