About this role: The Clinical Support Specialist plays a vital role in supporting shelter residents and clients. This position is responsible for conducting clinical assessments, developing individualized plans, coordinating referrals, and facilitating therapeutic support. The CSSA provides consultation and training to staff to ensure trauma-informed care and consistent service delivery. The position will work within a team to provide counseling, prevention, assessment, referral, advocacy, and a range of other client centered services.

JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clinical Assessments & Planning
- Complete comprehensive clinical assessments for all new clients to identify unique needs and challenges of each survivor.
- Develop personalized community living plans for each resident referred to Individual Housing Programs (IHP).
- Incorporate mental health and counseling referrals into individualized service plans.
- Provide crisis intervention services and immediate clinical support as needed.
- Complete counseling referrals and recommend match with the most appropriate clinician.
Group & Individual Support
- Work collaboratively to create a monthly Support Services calendar of activities that will strengthen resident’s experience and growth while in the shelter interim housing program.
- Design the schedule based on the residential schedule, availability of presenters. Add in incentives for residents to participate. Evaluate sessions and provide presenters with constructive feedback.
- Facilitate two clinical support groups weekly for shelter residents.
Training & Staff Development
- Conduct monthly trauma-informed training sessions for shelter employees.
- Monitor helpline chat interactions to ensure staff respond in a trauma-informed communication
- Identify training gaps and recommend improvements to the Senior Director of Victim Services
Program Specific:
- Maintain active licensure and adhere to state and professional regulatory requirements.
- Stay current on clinical best practices, domestic violence research, and therapeutic interventions.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in accordance with agency, legal, and ethical standards.
General and Administrative:
- Assist in facilitating 40-hour domestic violence training as needed.
- Participate in trainings and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education Required:
· Master’s degree
Experience Required:
· 3-5 years of experience in a clinical or counseling setting
