The Opportunity:
Sentrex is a leading healthcare provider dedicated to delivering comprehensive and compassionate care to our patients. The role is critical to providing operational excellence through quality standards to support a seamless, positive, end-to-end patient journey. As the Clinical Specialist for a strategic clinic services program, you will be responsible for ensuring a professional and service-oriented work environment.
This role allows the Pharmacist to provide holistic care to meet the emotional, psychological, informational, and practical needs of patients while supporting Neurology, Dermatology, Hepatology and Gastroenterology clinics across Canada. Your role will include navigating the healthcare system and reimbursement through our HAVEN provider solution program. This role will be key at breaking down barriers for patients access to life changing medicines and supporting optimal patient care. The Clinical Specialist is responsible for managing patient care, will act as a primary point of contact to their assigned health care providers (HCP) and ensure patients are provided easy access to the prescribed therapy.

A Day in the Life (What you will do here):
Accountable and responsible for clinical and technical aspects of drug distribution, including prescription clinical review/verification, patient counselling, resolving drug related problems, prescription adaptations/renewals as appropriate, prescription processing, filling and checking of medication
Provide exemplary customer service to clinic staff, nurses and physicians primarily by phone/email.
Adherence to all relevant guidelines including the established Standard Operation procedures and all applicable regulatory requirements as set out by the provincial College of Pharmacists
Perform HCP and patient registration activities, according to protocols and applicable departmental procedures.
Process data entry activities of pertinent information received at different points of contact during the delivery of services.
Ensure coordination with Sentrex Pharmacy to support refills and renewals where appropriate.
Review patient files prior to treatment to capture medical history.
Document and maintain patient records to ensure treatment history is adequately captured.
Maintains confidentiality of patient and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate personnel.
Liaise with physicians’ offices, pharmacies, services providers, and other parties to provide comprehensive and coordinated service to patients and HCPs.
What you need to ensure you are set up for success:
Registered and licensed as a Pharmacist (RPh designation)
1-2 years Pharmacist experience preferred
Pharmacy and Reimbursement Experience required
Experience with Kroll is required
Experience and understanding of specialty medications along with third party billing issues is considered an asset
Exceptional knowledge of third-party Insurance plans, special authorizations, and provincial coverage approvals
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written in English. Ability to effectively communicate in French is considered an asset.
Strong computer skills in a Windows environment using MS Office (Excel, Word)
Excellent phone etiquette
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Proven ability to self-manage time, set priorities and multi-task in order to meet various competing work deadlines
Ability to perform all technical duties involved in successful dispensing of medications
This position requires a significant degree of self-starting and independence
Strong operations experience required with a proven track record of success managing multiple priorities.
