Part-Time Position

The Children’s Tumor Foundation (CTF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by neurofibromatosis (NF), including NF1 and all types of schwannomatosis including NF2-related schwannomatosis. The CTF mission is to drive research, expand knowledge, and advance care for the NF community.

The Part-Time Clinical Program Manager is responsible for coordinating and guiding the efforts of the Clinical Team. He/she will work closely with the Director of Clinical Programs to ensure the continued expansion and cultivation of the NF Clinic Network (NFCN) and execution of Clinical Care Advisory Board (CCAB) activities. In addition, he/she will develop new ideas for improvement and efficiency of Clinical Team functions. 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 
  • Clinical Team-Related Activities

    • Provide strategic guidance to the Clinical Team while promoting the foundation’s priorities and culture 

    • Establish processes and standards to drive Clinical Team efficiency

    • Prepare Clinical Team reports for internal/external use 

    • Complete expense reports and accounts payable requests as needed for Clinical Team expenses

    • Facilitate clinical efforts for the global NF conference including organizing clinical abstract reviews and acceptance of platform or poster presentations

    • Assist with planning and staffing CTF exhibits at national meetings or clinic symposia

    • Co-liaise the Clinical Care Advisory Board

  • NF Clinic Network

  • Assist with evaluating and managing new NFCN clinic applications and annual report submissions 

  • Develop a process for NFCN Designation System: applications, reviews, and assignments

  • Define an approach to assess and improve NFCN clinical trial readiness

  • Coordinate NFCN activities at the global NF Conference

  • Maintain NFCN and CCAB activities on the ctf.org website

  • Distribute summaries of NF clinical trials (by disease and manifestation) to relevant NFCN sites

  • Develop Advanced Practice Provider networking opportunities and assess the need for an educational program for physician assistants and nurse practitioners

Perform additional duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science related field from an accredited college or university is required. Master’s degree in genetic counseling or advanced nursing degree preferred.

  • Experience with a clinical setting including patient care, clinic logistics, and program development. 

  • Comprehension of the operations of clinics and the healthcare system.

  • Willingness to learn about the etiology and natural history of NF. 

  • Knowledge of HIPAA and human research regulations.

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple projects under tight deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently, as well as with a team.

  • Ability to professionally demonstrate supportive and collaborative interaction with various constituents, including clinicians, researchers, staff, volunteers, and donors.

  • Technology knowledge and experience, including database, grant, and survey platforms.

 

Working Conditions, Equipment Used, and Special Information

Must have integrity and trustworthiness and possess remarkable tact, discretion, and professionalism.  Verbal and written communication skills will be used daily.  Maintains effectiveness under pressure.  Ability to lift 25 lbs.  Flexible for overnight business travel.  Flexible to work evenings and weekends as needed.
