This is a fully onsite role Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM with occasional evening and weekend rounding as well as on call availability. Riley Maternity does, on average, ~3700 deliveries per year. We are seeking an engaging and innovative leader, who is results-driven and inspired by meaningful work. The Clinical Operations Manager will manage the Riley maternity Level IV Perinatal Center. They will lead a team of primarily postpartum trained nurses and other role that support maternity patients. This manager will assist in the vision and execution of the department strategic plan, including program development, change management, and implementation. The ideal leader will have experience in OB and nursing leadership.
The Mother/Baby Unit at Riley Hospital is a 38-bed unit that primarily cares for women who have experienced vaginal and cesarean deliveries, other surgical OB procedures, and well-newborns in a couplet care model. The overall goal of the unit is to provide quality multi-disciplinary patient care to support the family to return home after the delivery of their baby. Additionally, the unit provides focused care for the early antepartum patient experiencing pregnancy complications.
The clinical manager of operations combines clinical experience and contemporary leadership practices with the IU Health Way to achieve excellent outcomes. Accountable for translating and achieving our strategic priorities and outcomes: quality and safety improvements, care affordability, great patient experiences, and great team member experiences. Accountable for providing strategic vision and operational planning for assigned unit. Incumbents will lead an interprofessional team to create an environment where the team is empowered to achieve excellence in patient and organizational outcomes. This role is accountable for advancing nursing practice by advocating and consistently embedding evidenced-base practices and professional nursing standards. Provides oversight of unit that is operational and staffed 24 x 7, weekends, and holidays.
