CLINICAL INFORMATICS SPECIALIST
This role shall be involved in the development, implementation, adoption, optimization, training, and management of the eHealth national solutions. This role responsible to support the enhancement of clinical practice using clinical systems by partnering with Information Systems to analyse, design, develop and implement informatics tools and technology supporting patient care activities. The candidate shall provide analysis of current clinical and business processes and workflows ensuring that information systems meet professional standards, regulations and support management strategies.
• Evaluate informatics solutions to ensure they meet quality, efficiency and effectiveness and applies comprehensive testing methodologies to all Clinical Informatics interventions.
• Identify data issues and risks related to Clinical Informatics activities and provides higher level analysis and feedback in clarifying informatics issues or problems, communicating findings to stakeholders, the interdisciplinary team and governance bodies.
• Serve as a champion and support in training of healthcare provider trainers.
• Assess content implementation strategies and the impact those strategies will have on workflow and operations.
• Document the current and future state workflows that are impacted by clinical documentation.
• Understand how content and functionality impact practice workflow.
• Contribute to policy and procedure development that will be used in conjunction with the orders and clinical documentation applications.
• Lead large-scale technology projects ensuring project vision and direction are aligned with overall objectives.
• Utilize analytical models to identify and evaluate approaches and solutions to information needs.
• Create business plans including requirements, alternatives, associated costs, ROI, implementation plans and other evaluative measures.
• Participate in strategic planning and helps establish priorities based on budget and resource constraints.
• Interpret current legislation, trends and standards and synthesizes existing and emerging standards to apply to organizational practices.
• Act as a contact for questions and issues that arise related to clinical informatics and try to troubleshoot them in timely manner.
• Prepare status reports.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• A bachelor’s degree in clinical /Paramedical is required
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in relevant role, out of which 3 years performing supervisory activities.
• Experience in implementing and supporting various clinical systems and applications, such as electronic medical record (EMR) systems, laboratory information systems (LIS), pharmacy systems, radiology systems, and others.
• Experience and knowledge of implementing national health information exchange, electronic prescribing, pharmaceutical supply chain management and diseases condition management is beneficial.
• Experience in conducting system assessments and audits to identify potential areas for improvement and recommending appropriate solutions.
• Experience in providing ongoing support and guidance to clinical staff on the use of
clinical systems and applications. Also, candidate must have Experience in working with vendors to coordinate the implementation and integration of clinical systems and applications
