Clinical Informatics Specialist
*REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in nursing, Nursing License in MD or Compact State, and 5 years of clinical experience
Full-time | Onsite in Hagerstown, MD | Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm (occasional off-hours as needed)

What You’ll Do
As a Clinical Informatics Specialist, you’ll bridge the gap between clinical practice and technology. You’ll partner closely with clinical teams to streamline workflows, optimize the electronic health record (EHR), and identify opportunities to improve outcomes through smart, dataâdriven solutions.
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with clinical departments to enhance processes and maximize EHR efficiency
- Serve as a trusted liaison between end users, application analysts, and report writers
- Identify opportunities for system improvement, compliance, and workflow optimization
- Stay current on clinical decision support tools and help drive strategic initiatives
- Test, train, and communicate changes related to Epic upgrades and workflow enhancements
- Support departments in selecting system solutions that improve safety, confidentiality, and functionality
- Partner with reporting analysts to improve valueâstream processes and data outcomes
- Deliver credentialed Epic training for new staff, optimization efforts, and upgrades—via oneâonâone sessions or “trainâtheâtrainer” models
- Perform other duties as needed to support clinical excellence and operational success
Education
- BSN required
- Experienced RNs with an ASN or Diploma must obtain a BSN within 5 years of hire
- If internally hired and already on a BSN deadline, that deadline transfers to this role
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of clinical practice (hospital or clinic preferred)
- Surgical services, emergency services, critical care, or medicalâsurgical experience strongly valued
- Prior committee or projectâbased work
- Experience with clinical systems and technology preferred
- Process improvement experience (Kata) is a plus
Licensure & Certification
- Current RN license in Maryland or a Compact RN license with “Compact” or “MultiâState Privilege” designation
- Compact licenses marked “Single State” do not meet requirements; Maryland licensure will be required
- Nursing Informatics certification preferred
- Epic Credentialed Trainer certification required within 6 weeks of hire

Location Requirement
This is an onsite role. Applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Hagerstown, MD or be willing to relocate (relocation assistance not provided).
