- Assess, plan, develop, implement, evaluate and revise education programs to meet the clinical needs of clinical staff or to comply with federal, state, regulatory or organizational policy.
- Identifies and recommends department specific content for learning modules and unit specific policies and procedures including focus on nursing staff who are new to the organization.
- 3Maintains current knowledge of The Joint Commission and other applicable regulatory standards for assigned unit and participates in regulatory inspections.
- Serves as a planner for continuing education programs for nurses and other disciplines when indicated according to established guidelines.
- Participates in continuing education activities as a subject matter expert.
- Demonstrates professional leadership in nursing practice, concepts, principles and interventions.
- Conducts and manages multiple educational programs for varied audiences while adhering to a high standard of customer service.
- Collaborates with organization leadership and multidisciplinary departments to ensure ongoing educational needs are met.
- Develops strategies and processes to support education systems.
- Provides clinical instruction to staff for competency development.
- Provides orientation to new clinical and transition staff.
- Develops and implements performance improvement plans in collaboration with nursing leadership when needed. Collaborates with nursing leadership to assess clinical competencies to assigned personnel.
- Evaluates staff performance as well as assist in the development of remedial employees as requested by leadership.
- Participates in quality patient care indicators.
- Adheres to all patient safety and blood & body fluid precautions.
- Maintains and updates department specific competencies.
- Provides guidance and recommendations on curricula and learning systems.
- Exemplifies a high standard of customer service.
- Participates as well as plans activities that further professional growth for self and other clinical staff.
- Responsible for maintaining an advanced understanding of departmental and healthcare system.
- Demonstrates proficiency and serves as a resource in Computerized Nursing Informatics

· A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
· (RN) - Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
· (BLS) - Current Basic Life Support certification
· Three years recent acute healthcare nursing experience
· Experience in assigned clinical area required
· Experience and proficiency using electronic medical record
· Maintain certifications appropriate to assigned clinical areas
· (Preferred) – Clinical Education experience
· (Preferred) – A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
Medical Surgical Care Areas:
· CCHC Basic Arrythmia Exam (pass prior to start date)
· (ACLS) – Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (for North 3 Units)
· 3 years recent Medical/Surgical experience required
· (Preferred) – Medical-Surgical Certification
· (Preferred) – Oncology Certification
· (Preferred) – Peritoneal Dialysis experience
