Job Summary
The Clinical Education Instructor and Clinical Field Liaison ( CEI / CFL ) position is a joint teaching and administrative support position. The CEI / CFL works as a member of the Clinical Academic Affairs team to ensure quality educational opportunities for Year 3 and Year 4 veterinary students at Western University of Health Sciences College of Veterinary Medicine (WesternU CVM ). The CEI / CFL aids the Directors of Year 3 and Year 4 Curriculum in the delivery and assessment of student clinical training and assists the Director of Clinical Relations in oversight of external clinical sites. Instructional duties will account for approximately 60% of the position effort (0.6 FTE ) and will include, but are not limited to, oversight of Year 4 selective rotations, assistance with Year 3 clinical course scheduling and evaluation, and instruction in the Veterinary Basic and Medical Sciences for Year 1 and Year 2. The position duties are focused on the clinical education that occurs at clinical sites with preceptors utilized in Year 3 and Year 4 clinical curricula but may include some Year 1 and 2 educational facilities. About 30% of the position (0.3 FTE ) will be dedicated to functions related to oversight of clinical sites such as documenting compliance with the College Safety and Facilities policies for Year 3 and Year 4 clinical educational facilities, preparing annual reports, and assisting with recruitment of new sites and preceptors. The remaining 10% (0.1 FTE ) of time will be spent assisting with essential College service functions.
Required Qualifications
An earned DVM or equivalent degree from an accredited University
Preferred Qualifications
Safety training and certification, (e. g., 30-hour Cal/ OSHA certificate).
