The School of Health Professions (SHP) at Stony Brook University invites applicants to apply for a faculty position in the Department of Health Science.  This is a non-tenure track full-time, 12-month position at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor.  The incumbent will be located at Stony Brook University’s Health Sciences Center. 

 

The candidate hired for this position will be joining a collaborative and student-centered department with responsibilities in teaching in areas of expertise within Health Informatics, engaging in collaborative interdisciplinary scholarship, and participating in service activities.  All courses the candidate will be teaching are offered in person format only.  In the fall semester, the candidate will teach several sections of HAN 364, see link for course description (https://healthprofessions.stonybrookmedicine.edu/programs/hs/curriculum/fall) and in the spring semester will teach several courses in the Health Care Informatics concentration of study, see link for course descriptions (https://healthprofessions.stonybrookmedicine.edu/programs/hs/curriculum/nonclinical/health-care-informatics).  In addition, the successful candidate will contribute to revisions of program courses to strengthen the program’s curriculum and offerings.

Required Qualifications: 
Master’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) from an accredited institution. Minimum two (2) years of full-time or full-time equivalent industry experience or academic experience in the field of health informatics, for example, data analytics, system development/implementation, artificial intelligence, or other related areas of health informatics. 

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching at the college level or conducting educational training. Master’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) from an accredited institution in Applied Health Informatics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Decision Sciences, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
